Elemental

As a fan of both Sudoku and Alchemy puzzles, I happened across Elemental quite by chance in the Google Play marketplace. The object of the game is to place a mix the earth, air, fire and water elements on a 4 x 4 grid, to create, a variety of objects, from steam and mud through to brick and crystal.
It starts with the usual tutorial level teaching you what each of the on screen buttons do and how to play the game before allowing you to move onto each of the game worlds properly. The first world has two element objects which make it fairly simple to play and if you get stuck you can use the hint button which is useful but ultimately costs you some of your score to use.

The second world is where it start to get trickier with three element objects, like the brick and the crystal. If you forget what elements make up an object you can tap an area to be reminded, though this incurs a time penalty of 10 seconds per tap. The game is ad supported thought it is quite unobtrusive showing the ad at the top of the screen but you can make an in app purchase of 99 cents to remove these ads.

This is ultimately a simple game but with 6 worlds to work through and a further 3 coming soon, this game will keep you entertained for some time yet.
